Mentor a family under supervison of Casework Manager. Families are referred from Child Protective Services when not appropiate for CPS but need on-going help with life stresses.
Expectation of weekly contact with family, especially at first, and then on an as needed basis. Mentor will visit family in their home and have phone contact.
Families live in Collin County: McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Allen, and Wylie. As well as, Richardson, and North Dallas. Casework Manager tries to assign cases that you think you can assit and are somewhat convenient to you.
Families need a person who is willing to help them manuver through life's challenges as well as share their joys. Families often need help accessing other resources such as financial, medical, mental health, etc. You may need to provide some transportation for the client in order to access these resources.
This is fulfilling work, and you will come to know your client family as they come to know you.
