United Way of Tampa Bay needs volunteers to prepare tax returns at multiple free tax preparation sites in Hillsborough County through the Prosperity Campaign. You do not need to have prior experience to do this! Learn a valuable new skill, share your knowledge and expertise and make a real difference in the community and in the lives of thousands of low and moderate income families and individuals.

Tasks:

+ Participating at a free tax site from mid-January through mid-April

+ Working at least one shift a week if possible (typically 2-4 hours each)

• Hospitality: + Desire to help low-income families. + Ability to meet and successfully deal with people from different backgrounds and circumstances. + Pride in performing tasks completely and accurately. + Commitment and willingness to work with an assigned site throughout the tax season (Mid-January through April 15 th in most cases) based on hours to be determined between you and the site. (min. 2-4 hours a week). + Basic computer skills. + Being friendly, dependable and flexible. No special training required. Volunteers will generally receive orientation and specific instructions from their chosen sites. Volunteers can choose from multiple locations and can work at more than one site if they'd like.
