Lakeside seeks a volunteer to provide administrative support to the executive director and program staff.
Responsibilities Will Include:
- Answering and directing phone calls
- Making copies and assisting with data entry
- Providing administrative support for community outreach, events, and workshops
- Shadowing program staff and assisting in program activities

Mission Statement
The mission of Lakeside CDC is to preserve and create affordable housing opportunities in Chicago through education, advocacy, and development. Lakeside pursues its mission by providing comprehensive housing education and counseling services to primarily low- and very-low income individuals and families (856 in 2012); engaging in research and advocacy on neighborhood, city-wide, and broader housing trends; and collaborating with for-profit and non-profit housing developers. Lakeside is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency and is a member of numerous coalitions, including the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, Housing Action Illinois, the Chicago CRA Coalition, West Rogers Park Community Organization, and Partners for Rogers Park, among others.
Description
Lakeside CDC is a nonprofit 501c3 housing organization located in Rogers Park on Chicago's Far North Side. Lakeside CDC serves eight Chicago neighborhoods and near north suburbs.
Lakeside pursues its mission by providing comprehensive housing education and counseling services to primarily low- and very-low income individuals and families (856 in 2012); engaging in research and advocacy on neighborhood, city-wide, and broader housing trends; and collaborating with for-profit and non-profit housing developers. Lakeside is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency.
Lakeside recognizes that collaboration and cooperation are keystones for success. the organization is a member of numerous coalitions, including the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, Housing Action Illinois, the Chicago CRA Coalition, West Rogers Park Community Organization, and Partners for Rogers Park, among others. Lakeside is also an active participant in Community Associations Institute- Illinois, ACTHA, and other groups concerned with housing issues of concernt to our clients.
Lakeside has a staff of five full-time professionals and 1 part-time professional, plus 2 part-time interns. Lakeside also maintains an active and organized volunteer program and includes volunteers in all aspects of its work.
