Volunteer English tutors are needed to work in small groups with adults who are learning English as a second language during our spring 2021 semester. Tutors spend about one hour a week helping two to four students in our reading-conversation hour. We provide all training and materials. Time slot is 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm. We tutor via zoom online.

The goal of tutoring is to assist student with their English reading, writing, speaking and listening. You provide a friendly face and a willingness to improve someone's life. Reading-conversation hour will focus on reading stories and actively discussing the material.

Here's what other tutors have to say about volunteering with the English School: "Everyone benefits from the interaction, the tutor and the students. It's fun and the students seem terrifically appreciative. "I always feel good about the session. I'm impressed by how hard the students work. Many come straight from their jobs, arrive early, and seem eager to come back. Sometimes I think that I get more out of the sessions than the students do." "everyone was so friendly and the program was run smoothly. tutoring sessions were started on time and ended on time. I thought the program was very organized by people who cheerfully volunteered their time to sincerely care. great job everyone!!"
