ORGANIZATION: The San Diego River Park Foundation

Help to care for one of Mission Valley's only public open spaces, the San Diego River Garden. The River Garden was one of the first projects of the San Diego River Park System. The group meets every 2nd and 4th Sunday from 9am-11am volunteers are needed for watering and general gardening. Groups and families welcome! Come and meet some great people while doing something positive for the community. Location: Mission Valley East. All tools and supplies are provided. Mission Statement

The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.

Description

We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
