Work in an American Red Cross disaster relief shelter during hurricane season. This may include shelter registration, dormitory management, and feeding. This is an emergency reserve position that will not engage you on an everyday basis but will contact you as needed when a disaster occurs. When activated, this position will require extended stays at a disaster relief shelter. Training is required and consists of four classes, approximately 12 hours total.

Tasks include:

• Interacting with clients to determine needs and refer appropriately
• Maintaining log for residents entering and leaving shelter
• Set up cots for clients
• Seek guidance from Shelter Supervisor as necessary
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
• Exhibit good stress reduction skills
