Mission Housing Development Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic individual(s) to help plan it's Fall Fundraiser. This intern/volunteer position is great for someone who is interested in the non-profit sector, event planning, PR, and/or fundraising. You will have many opportunities to tap into various aspects of event management in a non-profit arena. This intern/volunteer position is especially ideal for college students or recent graduates who are in search of event planning/fundraising experience.

Reports to: President/CEO, Fundraising Event Committee, and Board Liaison
Length: Approximately 4 months (July, 2009 - November, 2009). This is desired but is not required.
Compensation: Unpaid (excellent recommendations upon completion of intern/volunteer term)

Mission Housing Development Corporation (MHDC) develops high-quality, well-managed, affordable, sustainable homes and communities that promote the self-sufficiency of low and moderate income families, seniors, and persons with diverse needs. MHDC offers technical assistance to service providers to help them develop affordable housing that meets the needs of special populations.
Intern/Volunteer Responsibilities:
The Fundraising Event Assistant will directly support the President/CEO, the Fundraising Event Committee and the Board Liaison in their efforts to produce the organization's Annual Event successfully. The role of the Fundraising Event Assistant will be to provide essential support to the team through core activities. These core activities will cover many facets of the planning process, from researching and acquiring quotes to getting all event day logistics ready. You will be able to utilize your writing, organization, research, and communication skills, to name a few. You will also have the opportunity to work with an experienced Fundraising Event Committee.
*Currently, the task in need of the most attention is managing and maintaining the organization's mailing list.*

- • Highly Computer literate with a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. • Strong organizational abilities. • Good team player who can work on own initiative. • Enthusiastic and great communicator. • Interest in event management and/or fundraising.
