Assemble "Yummy" Kits (Addressing Failure to Thrive in Infants & Children)

Description

Project: Collect new "Yummy Kit" items and assemble them at the site of your choice.

Overview: Failure to thrive is a situation when a baby or toddler is not adequately gaining weight. MVNA is currently experiencing an increase in referrals for nurses' visits for babies/toddles experiencing failure to thrive. Causes are many and can include situations that are an outgrowth of difficult economic times, parental mental health, or the parent's lack of knowledge surrounding the nutritional and developmental aspect of eating. To ensure success, the nurse may require some teaching tools or aides to amend the situation, such as the items listed below (Yummy Kit).

Yummy Kit Essentials: New baby bowl, metal baby fork/spoon, bib, sippy cup, divided baby dish, Onesies (size 9 to 12 mos), baby washcloths, vinyl cloth to cover floor area under the highchair.
