Volunteers needed for conference and event planning for national conference

Description

Leading advocates, organizers and other experts from across the country representing local, State, national immigrant and refugee rights, civil rights, health care, anti-poverty, legal, faith-based, ethnic, labor community and low-wage worker groups. Trainings, Strategy Sessions, Dialogue Session, Sessions on Cross-Cutting Issues To get up to speed on laws and policies affecting immigrants To connect with immigrant rights advocates working at the national, state and local levels To participate in developing organizing and advocacy strategies around critical issues affecting low-income immigrants in the United States including: Workers Rights, Safety-Net Programs and Services, Anti-Immigrant Proposals, Immigration Enforcement, Due Process and Constitutional Rights and Educational and other opportunities. Past conferences have been highly praised for building momentum toward developing a national agenda on these and other important immigrants' rights issues.

Skills

  • We need help in many areas. Recruit volunteers, On-site (local D.C. Area) Helping with the organizing of events Outreach Entertainment/Arts Administrative support, i.e. data entry, filing, copies, etc. Public Relations Phone calls to volunteers, clients or donors Volunteer mentors Research We welcome volunteers from 18 and up.
