Spanish Speaking Computer Tutor

Organization |
Description
Pernet Family Health Service has been serving low-income families in the Green Island neighborhood in Worcester since 1968. We offer a variety of programs including a food pantry, maternal and infant nursing, after-school programs and parent support.
This summer Pernet is happy to announce the re-launch of its community computer lab. We are looking for volunteers to teach computer classes in Spanish. This opportunity would involve teaching Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in Spanish. Volunteers would also be asked to help our community members with creating e-mail accounts and general navigating of the Internet. Lesson plans have already been created for all of these tasks in English, they will need to be translated into Spanish and taught to our Spanish speaking community members.
Skills
- Volunteers must be fluent in Spanish and have a basic knowledge of computers. Volunteers must be willing to commit to two-hour blocks of time. Hours of operation are TBD currently, but will be fine-tuned based on the needs of our community. Training will be available to volunteers on the nuances of our lab
