Fun, Fun, FUN! Volunteer at the Children's Museum with the Family Involvement Enhancement Project
Organization |
Description
The Family Involvement Enhancement Project (FIEP) is a partnership between the Louisiana Youth Enhanced Services, Louisiana Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health and the Louisiana Children's Museum. The central goal of the project is to empower families with children (ages 3-21) with behavioral or emotional disabilites. The FIEP is a training that helps the families obtain support, communication, and leadership skills. The parent are involved in leadership training, while the children are doing fun, theraputic art activities. We need volunteers to assist the children with the art projects and engage them in the Museum activities. The session dates are July 11th, July 18th, July 25th, August 15th and August 22nd. Sessions begin at 8:00 and end at noon. We are looking for steady volunteers, but if there are issues with availablity we are very flexible. No special skills are required, but we ask that volunteers be openminded, fun loving, and energetic. Community service hours for high school students can be earned. Please contact Nakina Eugene at 896-2636 or at nakina.eugene@la.gov. Don't miss this opportunity to help inspire those who need it most.
