Free tutor training. You don't need a teaching credential to become a very effective tutor. You don't need a college credential either! You just need to speak, read and write English! You need to have a true desire to share these skills, time for the commitment, and the willingness to attend our training.
Opportunity to Read has adopted a tutor training that combines many of the techniques developed nationally with concepts and information that are relevant to our local needs and our adult learners.
If you speak, read and write English, you already have most of the skills you need to become an effective adult literacy tutor. This tutor training will take you through a series of experiences and activities that will provide you with the rest of the skills you need. It is fun, easy and fast!
