Regardless of your education or skill level, if you are a caring and compasionate person we can use you.
Hospice volunteer functions range from sitting, listening, and visiting with the patient, family member(s) and/or care givers to assisting with light house work, running errands, helping with fund raisers, public relations, speaking at community events, working in the Hospice office, to working directly with the "Team" members of the terminal ill.
We are not dealing with a casual fad or a matter of fashion. Instead, we are dealing -- quite literally -- with matters of life and death, and moral issues that will affect every one of us, directly or indirectly, as time goes on.
The philosophy of hospice is to affirm life by providing support and care to those in the last phase of incurable disease so that they can live as fully and comfortably as possible and die with dignity.
Without volunteers, the hospice could not provide the kinds or the scope of services which are needed to enhance the quality of the lives of our patients and their families.

At Bluebonnet Hospice, we are committed to quality patient care, patient dignity, and quality improvement as we strive to provide care that is palliative, holistic and supportive.
