Are you organized? Volunteer as a Girl Scout Placement Specialist!
Since 1912, Girl Scout volunteers have been helping children in their own communities develop leadership skills, explore new things, and learn about themselves. If you want to help girls in your community lead lives of courage, confidence and character, then you've come to the right place
The Placement Specialist's purpose is to place interested girls and adult volunteers in the assigned geographical area- a Service Unit- into troops, groups or as individual members. The Placement Specialist will work closely with other volunteers of the local Service Unit Team and will create and manage a Troop Placement Roster- or waiting list.
This volunteer would be comfortable using the phone and email to handle incoming and outgoing information. This position is for a one year, renewable term in which she/he can expect to provide a minimum of 1 hour of service per week, up to 2 hours per week at peak times (often April-June and Sept.- Nov.). The Placement Specialist is encouraged to attend Service Unit volunteer meetings whch are held Sept- June on the 1st Tuesday, 7:00-8:00 pm in Anacortes. The geographical area for this position will cover the LaConner and Anacortes School Districts, however most of the work can be done from the volunteer's home.
