Did you know about 21% of adults in Guilford County - more than 75,000 people - are unable to read a map, add up numbers on a bill or receipt, read a story to a child, or fill out a job application? An additional 25% of adults read at a level that is insufficient for success in today's complex society.
RSVP Volunteers receive training to help adults improve their literacy skills so they can acheive their personal goals and successfully complete job applications, create resumes, etc.
This volunteer opportunity is available in Greensboro, NC and High Point, NC.
Volunteers must be 55 years or older to enroll in the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program.
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is a Senior Corps program administered by the Corporation for National & Community Service and is sponsored locally by Senior Resources of Guilford.
