RSVP Handcraft volunteers knit, sew and crochet items. Volunteers create items in groups or at home during their own free time. These items are donated to social service agencies to provide help to those in need within our own community. Items include hats, mittens, quilts, cancer turbans, lap robes, baby layettes and much more. Each year volunteers create thousands of comfort items to help their neighbors keep warm through Wisconsin winters. If you have enjoy sewing, knitting, crocheting or other forms of needle work, your talents can be put to good use to help your neighbors. We have several groups in La Crosse and Monroe counties that meet to create items, as well as individual volunteers who enjoy making donations in their free time at home. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator, for more information.

Description
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for individuals age 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, pre-service orientation, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
