Columbus Literacy Council (the Council) is the oldest and largest non-profit, adult literacy provider in Central Ohio. Volunteers play an integral role in our success. The Council provides volunteer opportunities in the areas of tutoring and administrative support. Tutors can work with English speaking adults as part of our Adult Basic Education Program or immigrants/refugees who want to learn English as a second language. Tutoring can be done in classroom settings or in one-to-one settings. Because the Council is volunteer based, there are opportunities to assist staff members with fundraising, data input, grant research, as well as, special events or projects. We are currently recruiting volunteers to help with events that run throughout the year.
