Are you a creative person? Do you think that the best gifts are handmade? Do you belong to a craft group or knitting circle and looking for a good home for your projects? If you can answer "yes" to any of these questions, read on...

Through the Craft & Special Projects program, we are able to give unique & heartwarming gifts to those we serve to help brighten his or her day.

Some of the projects our volunteers are currently working on include: knitted/crocheted prayer shawls, blankets, lap robes & slippers, homemade birthday, "thinking of you" & holiday cards, teddy bears, and a variety of other holiday or special occasion gifts. (For some projects, materials and instructions will be supplied.) Keep in mind that your past work experiences, hobbies, interests & talents may be valuable by offering creative ways to enhance the services provided.

Craft & Special Projects volunteers are able to work on projects at home at their leisure. Completed items may be dropped off at our office or arrangements can be made for them to be picked up by staff.

Mission Statement

Care, Comfort & Compassion for the Whole Family We believe everyone deserves to live in comfort and dignity throughout their lives. Hospice care helps ensure that those with a life-limiting illness live each day to its fullest; we do that by tending to their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. All of us at Hospice Advantage believe strongly in our mission of helping patients and their families during this time.

Description

We're committed to providing the highest quality care that our patients and their families deserve.

In becoming a hospice volunteer, you will embark on an exciting adventure which will not only improve the lives of others but uplift your spirit as well.

"Volunteers embody all that is best about hospice. When hope seems lost, volunteers are found at the bedside asking for nothing but the opportunity to give. When all the news seems to be bad, volunteers deliver a warm message of universal friendship and community. When all the power and promise of our high-tech society and healthcare system yield as they must to human mortality, volunteers remind us of the mystical and eternal value of human connectedness. Without volunteers, hospice as we know it ... and as we want it to be ... ceases to exist." - Rod Hildebrant, Owner & President of Hospice Advantage
