"The Mentor is someone who is willing to add value to the life of a complete stranger by sharing their experience, strength and hope. This commitment is for twelve months wherein they meet 2-3 times per month with weekly phone calls. The Mentor is a good listener who is not a parent but an advisor, an advocate who allows the youth to make choices and yet discuss these choices. This allows the young adult to rebuild trust and a life, which has been let down by themselves and the society they live in. The task of the Mentor is an adult friend and role model to the young person which they have never had. This Mentor should be of the minimum age of 26 with emotional maturity, committed to our program, wherein you attend events at Covenant House, Monthly round table board meetings, etc and have a stable life. Thereby being able at this time in their life, to share life experiences to help the young person. They must be committed, dedicated to helping, freely giving of their time and energy to this youth

Mission Statement

We who recognize God's providence and fidelity to his people are dedicated to living out his covenant among ourselves and those children we serve, with absolute respect and unconditional love. That commitment calls us to serve suffering children of the street, and to protect and safegaurd all children. Just as Christ in his humanity is the visible sign of God's presence among his people, so our efforts together in the covenant community are a visible sign that effects the presence of God, working through the Holy Spirit amoung ourselves and our kids.
