The Foster Grandparent & Senior Companion Programs serve children or adults who have a developmental disability. As a volunteer, you must be 55 years of age or older and on a limited income. You will assist two consumers approximately 20 hours per week. You receive a tax-free stipend, which will not affect your benefits such as social security, Medi-care, etc. Other benefits include meal and transportation reinbursment, an annual physical exam, paid vacation and sick leave and accident and liability insurance while you are on duty. Pre-service and monthly training sessions are provided.
