Ralston House is a child advocacy center that provides a safe place for childen and teens to share their stories. Victim Advocates provide support and crisis counseling to children and their families that come to Ralston House.

We are looking for Victim Advocates to work at either of our three sites. We are located in Arvada (near Kipling and 58th) and Lakewood (near 18th and Wadsworth). and Northglenn (112th and Federal) We especially need bilingual (Spanish) advocates, but all applicants are welcome!

Possible duties (depending on volunteer's availibility and interest) may include:

• Welcome and orient children and families to Ralston House.
• Provide Victim Services to children and families at Ralston House.
• Provide victim compensation and victim rights information to children and families at Ralston House.
• Act as liaison between the family and the legal system. Update the family on case status, continuances, dispositions and sentencing.
• Educate clients about the criminal justice and/or child protection systems.
• Make referrals for mental health treatment. Respectfully work with police, social services and Ralston House personnel.
• Respectfully work with victims, their families and support systems under extremely stressful circumstances.
• Attend Child Protection Team and other community meetings.
• Complete necessary paperwork for each case (Intake, 2nd Page, Persons Present at Interview, etc).
• Attend monthly meeting (1 st Wednesday of every month at 5:30 PM at Ralston House)
• Provide child care assistance to Parent Group participants.
