World Association for Community Empowerment is seeking individuals to provide Pre-GED and Adult Basic Education assistance to low-income and immigrant adultd on Staten Island North Shore.
The interested person will assess students in order to create a learning program for each student, provide instruction to students in the areas of math, science, writing, reading and social studies, the five areas covered in the GED tests, evaluate or test students, either formally or informally to determine if students are progressing and help students with improving their critical thinking, problem-solving, information processing and communication skills.

World Association for Community Empowerment is a registered nonprofit 501-C-3 tax-exempt organization founded in 2000 with a mission to empower low-income communities and families to become self-sufficient through the provision of a comprehensive array of services that foster hope and provide opportunities for growth and personal development.
Description
Founded in the winter of 2000, the organization is a registered nonprofit staffed by community volunteers and interns from undergraduate and graduate schools throughout New York City. Since the foundation, the organization has engaged in offering service of a unique nature aimed at meeting the needs of the community we serve. Currently, the organization provides Job Readiness Training and Referrals, Case Management and Referral, After School and Out-of-School Youth Educational and Recreational Program, Computer and Financial Literacy Classes, and Civic Education Classes to needed families on the North Shore of Staten Island.
The organization also provides Nutritional Food, Clothing, and other household items to families in need.
