Description

Still Someone, Inc. distributes cards, shawls, and blankets to seniors in nursing homes. We need handmade cards to brighten up seniors' days!

Cards can be as intricate or simple as you want. Pick your favorite medium -- paint, draw, stamp, cut-and-paste, crayons, computer design -- and make just one card or several dozen. Your cards will be combined with those from other volunteers so that each resident of a nursing home can receive a special, unexpected greeting.

Feel free to sign your card with a simple, nonreligious message, or leave the cards blank and other volunteers will sign them.

This is a great activity to do with children. Art from even the littlest hands is always appreciated! This can also be developed into a community service project for scouts, schools, clubs, and seniors groups.

Whether you are an accomplished artist or an enthusiastic beginner, you have the tools to really make a difference in a senior's quality of life, right from your desk or kitchen table. The card you send might be the only contact the recipient has from someone other than a caregiver all day, all week, or even all month.
