Pawsitive Perspectives Assistance Dogs (PawPADs) is seeking individuals and families who are willing to open their homes and their hearts to bringing a service dog in-training into their homes on week-ends.

As our program will work with others (youth-at-risk, veterans) as they train the dogs we will keep the dogs at the PawPADs' Training Center during the week -- but we want them to experience family life on the week-ends.

This will be the first time that PawPADs has used puppy raisers and so we will seek your input into what is working and what isn't .... we want to make this a fun experience for everyone involved!

We truly believe that "it takes a village" to raise an assistance dog -- won't you become part of our village?

• Willingness and flexibility: PEOPLE WITH HEART CONDITIONS WANTED: Our puppy raisers will need: * an open heart which will allow a puppy into it even though you know you will have to let it go; * a patient heart which will withstand the occassional challenges a puppy will present; * a flexible attitude which will work with PawPADs as the organization grows; * a curious mind interested in learning about the psyche of the canine mind, * an adventurous soul as working with our puppies is sure to be an adventure! Additionally you will be expected to learn our positive training methods and some of our commands so that we maintain consistency in our dog's lives. Prior dog training experience is not necessary.
