Creativity Classes happen daily during After-School Central, our after-school program for 6-8th grade students. Creativity Classes are 30 minute blocks designed to engage students in a wide array of diverse skills, arts, and activities. The purpose is to help students discover their gifts and passions, and to develop new skills.
We are looking for individuals willing to share with our students their own passions, skills, and hobbies. Creativity Classes can be almost anything and we're always open to ideas. Below is a list of sample projects:
Dance, Art (of all kinds), Cooking, Model Rocketry, Guitar/Instrument Lessons, Photography, Scrapbooking, Videography, Fitness, Outdoor Living Skills, First Aid/CPR, Woodworking, Drama, Knitting/Sewing, Web Design, Computer skills (hardware/software/networking), Poetry, and any other hobby or skill you might suggest!
Projects can be structured in various ways. They can be a one-time project, a series over several days, or one day/week for several weeks, or can be once weekly. Details can be worked out with After-School Programming Staff.
After-School Central Creativity Classes occur at different days & times depending on location.
Creativity Instructors are there for instruction only. Supervision of students is handled by Program Staff and Volunteer Mentors.
