OVERVIEW The Homeland Security Foundation of America ("HSFA") is currently seeking a diverse group of professionals, government and foundation executives, public safety, energy and health and human services experts and/or community leaders, who will bring access and influence to HSFA. DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT Director (California) (This is a Volunteer Leadership Role. This opportunity can be organized as a Group of Volunteers, or simply and who is Individual interested in building a group to develop their local District) The District Development Director ("DDD") exists to assist the leadership of the Homeland Security Foundation of America ("HSFA") to ensure the effective planning and development of HSFA Public Safety, in each U.S. Congressional District ("District"). Primary Responsibilities: The District Development Director's primary role is overseeing volunteers, building relationships, securing resources, including facilities, soliciting large donations. This is a 6 month commitment working with the organization to build a presence in the District. Know and understand HSFA's mission in the community and the roadmap for your district, and be able to convey this information in a clear, concise manner to donors, volunteers, staff, government officials, community partners and citizens. Regularly attend subcommittee meetings held twice a month, as well as other important related meetings. Stay informed about District Development matters Foster teamwork and get to know other DDD in order to build a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus; Identify local needs and areas of opportunity for Public Safety, Work with neighboring Districts to coordinate overlapping efforts;
