ORGANIZATION: A SMART Rescue

  • 20 people are interested

Do you wonder what can happen to that litter of abandoned kittens or puppies found in your neighborhood? Or homeless cats and dogs turned in at the the local shelter? If they are lucky enough to be accepted or rescued by SMART, we always need Foster Homes with responsible animal enthusiasts to care for these unwanted animals. Each cat or dog goes through a program of vet visits for tests, vaccinations, treatment of diseases, spaying or neutering. Sharing your safe home and providing loving attention while they endure the stress of transport, vet visits and medications, can mean you will make a huge difference in the outcome: A socialized, happy, adoptable pet, instead of a frightened animal that has lived on the streets, is afraid of adults, children, other pets and may need a much longer period of time to adjust to a kennel and adoption. The first 7 weeks of a kitten's or puppy's life is the most critical to the development of their socializing & behavior skills. Those weeks spent with YOU are a gift you can give. You will be their best friend & provider, while they learn to give back to you love, trust and joy.
