Adults 55 and up, take the chance to immerse yourselves in the many fun and exciting opportunities at the Jacksonville Zoo. Your skills and talents can go a long way to make the Jacksonville Zoo the best place to visit.
- Education trainer to teach the zoo's many educational programs for school groups and families as well as serve as interpreters of the zoo's exhibits.
- Guest services to serve in the gift ships, train operations, photo booth, greeters and direction givers, special events, inventory control, food service and more.
- Zoo helpers to work behind the scenes to perform a variety of tasks from carpentry and painting to refurbishing exhibits, general maintenance.

Mission Statement
Develop a variety of volunteer opportunities for community services for people, aged 55 and better, willing to share their experience, abilities, and skills for the betterment of their community and themselves.
Description
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is funded in part by a federal program entitled The Corporation for National and Community Service and the City of Jacksonville.
The dual purpose is to engage seniors 55 and better in volunteer service that meets critical community neeeds; and to provide a high quality volunteer experience that will enrich their lives.
