ORGANIZATION: Riversdale House Museum

Kitchen Guild members cook on the open hearth in Riversdale's reproduction dependency kitchen. Training and informational sessions take place in the fall and spring. Volunteers are generally scheduled for one Sunday shift per month and occasionally for special events.

Sunday shifts are scheduled from noon-4 pm.

Mission Statement

To preserve, conserve, restore, and maintain this public historic facility and its resoruces. In cooperation with the Riversdale Historical Society, Inc., staff will research, interpret, and promote the history of Riversdale and Prince George's County. This will be achieved by operating as a public house museum and by providing tours, educational exhbitis, special events, and other activities that will enrich the understanding of the site's role in county, state, and national history and by appealing to local residents, the school community, and the general public.

Riversdale is a historic house administered as a public museum, primarily dedicated to the interpretation of life in early Federal America.
