Have you ever wanted to learn how to run an issues-based organizing campaign? If you are looking an internship in a dynamic campaign atmosphere, you may be the right person for an exciting internship with Corporate Accountability International! Become an integral part of a dynamic team for equality, justice and effective social change. We are now accepting applications for the spring semester.
Our campaigns internship is a leadership skills-building program, in which interns will take on a significant project to advance Corporate Accountability International's campaign challenging corporate control of water and securing people's access to safe and affordable water. We have launched Think Outside the Bottle Campaign to educate the public about the negative social and environmental impacts of the bottled water industry - one of the most visible examples of corporate control of water - and to put pressure on bottled water giants to change their practices. Additional opportunities may be available to work on our other campaigns.
Corporate Accountability International (formerly Infact) is a membership organization that protects people by waging and winning campaigns challenging irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions around the world. Through bold campaigns and a commitment to win, Corporate Accountability International and its members have scored major victories that protect people and save lives. For over 25 years, we've forced corporations--like Nestlé, General Electric and Philip Morris/Altria--to stop their abusive practices. We have active and ongoing campaigns targeting the water, tobacco, food and oil industries.
Interns will have primary responsibility for significant projects and will master a variety of skills, including:
∗ Organizing events
∗ Recruiting and training volunteers
∗ Outreach to activists in person and on the phone
∗ Research
∗ Design of organizing materials
∗ Ongoing administration to support the work of the campaigns team
∗ Additional training in fundraising and communications may be included, depending on the interests of the intern and needs of the campaign work.

Mission Statement
Corporate Accountability International is a membership organization that protects people by waging and winning campaigns challenging irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions around the world. Through bold campaigns and a commitment to win, Corporate Accountability International and its members have scored major victories that protect people and save lives.
For 30 years, we've forced corporations--like Nestlé, General Electric and Philip Morris/Altria--to stop abusive actions. We are now challenging corporate control of water and working to galvanize support for strong public water systems.
Description
We wage campaigns that challenge irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions around the world. We're a membership organization. Our work ranges from organizing consumer boycotts--like the Nestlé Boycott in the late 70s around aggressive infant formula marketing--to advancing international law, like the global tobacco treaty we helped to pass in 2003.
We've won major victories impacting the influence of the infant formula, nuclear weapons and tobacco industries. Right now we're launching a new campaign to address corporate abuse of our food. Our primary campaign is Think Outside the Bottle, challenging corporate control of water and working to galvanize support for strong public water systems.
What is Think Outside the Bottle?
Corporate Accountability International's Think Outside the Bottle campaign challenges corporate control of water and galvanizes support for strong public water systems. The campaign is mobilizing public officials, institutions, restaurants and tens of thousands of individuals to pledge to Think Outside the Bottle, which means opting for tap water over bottled water and making a commitment to support strong public water systems.
