"Virtual Opportunity" Helpline Operators Needed

Description
The Domestic Abuse Helpline for Men and Women is seeking helpline operators to cover shifts on our toll free 24/7 nationally available helpline. Helpline operators work from home taking weekly shifts on our help line collecting caller information and passing it on to the advocate.
No experience necessary! We offer training online and through teleconferencing. Our supportive services are available to both men and women in heterosexual and same-sex abusive relationships.
Our online training is 30 hours of reading, assignments, and quizzes. An instructor is available throughout the training via email and telephone. Trainees have up to six weeks to complete the training. You can take the training and cover the helpline right from home!

Skills
- The ideal candidate for the volunteer position of Helpline Advocate will have access to a computer, with internet and e-mail and access to a telephone and will possess the following skills/characteristics: Be computer proficient using the internet and email. * Be reliable and self-motivated * Able to pay close attention to detail * Be a good listener * Able to commit a minimum of 12 hours a week to this volunteer position * Able to commit 2 hours per month to a mandatory teleconference call for all volunteers
