Internet Marketing Campaign Intern

Are you a marketing student looking for real-world experience? Are you a "go-getter" with great ideas? Are you looking for an opportunity to use those "creative powers" of yours? Are you interested in using the Internet as a marketing tool? Then this may be the opportunity for you!

Internet Marketing Campaign Intern Needed!

Rising Sun Energy Center (RSEC), a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization, seeks a Internet Marketing Campaign Internto assist in the promotion of our flagship youth summer employment program, California Youth Energy Services (CYES).

Each year, CYES employs around 80 youth (15-22 years old) in communities all around the Bay area. CYES's free energy efficiency services are available to anyone but creating awareness of the program can be a challenge. We need an intern to help us get the word out about CYES by using the internet to spread the word.

This is a rare opportunity for an internship. You will be given an opportunity to do real-world, hands-on type work using your Internet knowledge. Specifically, you will be running our viral & internet marketing campaign by managing posts to websites like MySpace, Facebook, craigslist, email forwards, and lots of reaching out to other sites to get our link and blurb posted. It's a fun project for someone to cut their 'internet marketing' teeth on.

The duties of the intern will include but not be limited to:

• Work with RSEC staff to strategize and determine an internet marketing strategy
• Implement an internet marketing strategy.

This is an extremely important internship for Rising Sun Energy Center and an excellent opportunity for you. While you are gaining valuable work-place experience you are also helping a local non-profit in the emerging green economy.

Please note: This is an unpaid internship. RSEC is happy to provide documentation for earning course credit, community service, etc. You could receive class credit by making this a class project.

About RSEC

Since 2000, Rising Sun Energy Center (RSEC) has provided comprehensive energy-efficiency services and education to communities in the East Bay and Marin while providing training and employment opportunities to youth. We implement innovative community service programs integrating youth employment, on-site residential energy efficiency visits, and other local programs and services. Since our beginning, RSEC has trained and employed over 400 youth ages 15-22 years old, served over 9,000 homes and helped residents save over $100,000 annually in utility costs.

Internship Periods

We are looking for interns for the spring semester (January to May). Hours are flexible but attendance at weekly staff meetings is mandatory. Interns are expected to work at least 5 hours per week.

Internship Qualifications
RSEC is looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Highly motivated undergraduate students studying the following areas:
  • Marketing
  • Internet and networking
• Very good working knowledge of websites such as Facebook, MySpace, etc.
• Committed to youth development and the green economy
• Detail oriented
• Excellent time-management skills
• Extremely autonomous and independent worker
• Ability to produce results
• A self-starter
