Would you like to volunteer to help low income families in your community? Train to Become a Volunteer Tax Preparer for Low-Income Families at a Multicultural Community Center! Americana Community Center is participating as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Site with the Louisville Asset Building Coalition. Professional tax preparation experience is not necessary--all volunteers are offered training and support. Volunteers can become certified on their own through Internet courses. You can be certified at beginning, intermediate or advanced. All levels needed! We are currently serving participants from 98 different countries! Bilingual volunteers are needed, but not mandatory. There are also options to volunteer as a Greeter, Interpreter, or Intake Specialist. This is a great way to volunteer your time and know you are making a difference! This program serves a great need in our community. Our VITA site will open in January, 2019 weekly. Days and time TBA. Description

The Americana Community Center is located in the South End of Louisville. The South End has a large concentration of varied ethnic groups, with 26 different languages spoken. The Americana Community Center exists to be responsive to the needs of the diverse community by providing language and family based services to refugees, immigrants and other U.S. born citizens.
