Would you consider brightening a senior's day with a friendly phone call? Or making certain that an older adult is safe? As an RSVP TeleCare volunteer you will make regularly scheduled phone calls to homebound or isolated seniors to ensure they are safe and to engage them in some friendly conversation if they wish. You can make the calls right from your own home or from the RSVP office in Rutland. You will call an average of two times per week but the number may be more or less depending on your schedule and that of the TeleCare client. As a compassionate listener you can make a real difference in the lives of seniors. The contact they have with you may be just what they need to remain in their homes, aging in place, living independently and avoiding a nursing home placement.
