The Happy Apple Thrift Shop Volunteer greets customers personally, sells Thrift Shop merchandise, maintains an awareness of stock, operates the register and keeps accurate count of money, sorts and tags merchandise, assists the Thrift Shop Manager to assess needs. Helps maintains a clean and attractive shop.
The Happy Apple Thirift Shop serves the Kingston Hospital, a 160-bed full-service, non-sectarian, not-for-profit institution whose purpose is to serve the health care needs of all people in our community.

RSVP is nationwide, but is sponsored locally by the Ulster County Community College, Stone Ridge, New York. Our mission is:
To enrich the community through volunteer placements that utilize the talents, interests and experience of persons 55 and older,
Enhance the lives of the volunteers and those they serve;
Provide valuable volunteer services that address the needs of the community and affect a measurable difference.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
