Volunteer with Neighborhood Tax Centers!

Neighborhood Tax Centers provides free income tax preparation for working families with low to moderate incomes. During the 2014 tax season, Neighborhood Tax Center volunteers saved families more than $3 million in tax preparation fees and their 5,000 hours of service claimed $232 million in tax credits and refunds for our local economy. In 2015, our goal is to prepare 36,800 returns for hard working families. To reach this goal, we need 1500 volunteers! If you are comfortable using a computer and working with numbers, we can train you to prepare tax returns.

WHAT DO VOLUNTEER TAX PREPARERS DO?

• Learn how to prepare tax returns in 8 to 16 hours of training
• Become certified as an IRS volunteer tax preparer
• Work directly with families who need help preparing their tax returns
• Commit to volunteer 36 hours between January & April -- just 3 hours a week!

WHAT OTHER WAYS CAN I VOLUNTEER?

• Intake Specialist : We need friendly volunteers to welcome clients and organize their tax documents. Attend 3-hour training.
• Translator : We need bilingual volunteers to assist Spanish-speaking clients. No tax knowledge needed! Attend 3-hour training.
