Girl TECH CORPS 1.0 provides elementary school girls with access to computers and basic computer training as well as the opportunity to develop relationships with tech-savvy professional females from the community. Volunteers work in teams and assist throughout the school year during after-school hours. Typically volunteers visit the school weekly, every Thursday, for no more than two hours. The program starts in September 2009 and ends in May 2010.

The program will be available at 5 different locations across Columbus.

• As a volunteer you will use lessons developed by TECH CORPS Ohio to introduce girls to Basic Computing topics, including: MS Word, Excel, email and internet, basic hardware identification, programming, and robotics with a focus on using the technology to assist with student's academic achievement.
