The Crisis Center
Crisis Hotline Volunteer Counselors answer calls from people in emotional distress, suicidal, physical danger, or mentally ill. Through active and reflective listening techniques volunteers help callers find some temporary relief, or provide emergency intervention in life-threatening circumstances. Volunteers access our extensive community resource and referral database to provide additional support for callers and the community. Volunteers are required to attend a 2 day training class and fulfill 16 hours of onsite training. Reservations are required. Call for dates of the next training.
