Twice per year, GoodDogz.org hosts a large adoption event where we invite rescue groups from around the DC metro area to come out and talk to potential owners about adopting dogs. Each event leads to 100 dogs getting adopted and finding permanent homes. Our fall event is called Home for the Holidays and is held on the first Saturday of November.
During the Home for the Holidays event, GoodDogz.org provides information regarding the event and dog adoption at our booth, supports the needs of the rescues and manages the ongoing activities at the event.
GoodDogz.org is looking for volunteers to spend a few hours with us during the event to help with the above mentioned activities. Individuals who are interested in volunteering at the event should contact Mark Bates at mark@gooddogz.org with the time they are able to volunteer. GoodDogz.org is looking for volunteers to assist us between 9:00 and 4:30 the day of the event. Individuals can volunteer for all or a portion of the event.

GoodDogz.org is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating potential dog owners on dog selection and care and supporting the efforts of rescue groups. We believe that by assisting with good dog-owner matches, we'll give each family the best opportunity for a life-long relationship with their new dog and help to keep dogs out of shelters.
Description
Gooddogz.org is a non-profit organization that provides educational resources regarding dog ownership and selection. Our ultimate goal is to keep dogs in loving homes and out of shelters which is why our motto is to choose wisely, choose for life. We offer education courses about dog ownership and how to choose the right dog as well as obedience training for dog owners. We also offer a children's program to help children learn the responsibilities of dog ownership and how to properly care for a dog. Gooddogz.org also provides guidance to rescue organizations and offers workshops on behavior evaluations of shelter dogs, foster parenting and home selection. In an effort to bring all of the efforts together we participate in community events and host super pet adoption fairs.
