New Eyes for the Needy makes a deep and lasting impact on the lives of the visually impaired in the United States and overseas. We buy new prescription eyeglasses for the poor in the U.S. and distribute used glasses to the poor in developing countries. Volunteers are trained to sort used glasses according to different categories such as bifocal, astigmatic, progressive, reading, children's, etc. These glasses are often the first and only pair the recipient will ever own!
