We need your help to make a difference in a child's life!
Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. We place volunteers from the community in a classroom to teach our curriculum to students in grades K-12. The program kits are very comprehensive and easy to use, with many opportunities for volunteers to share their unique perspectives and personal stories!
We have two types of volunteer opportunities. The first is week-to-week, teaching about one hour per week for 6-7 consecutive weeks. This model is generally at the middle or high school level. Our other model, "JA in a Day," is at the elementary school level where the entire school participates in a full day of JA programs. Each volunteer is assigned to a classroom, teaching 5 sessions in one day. JA in a Day is a great opportunity for a group of volunteers to teach at the same school.
In both types of volunteering, you will be provided with all necessary materials and be given a full training by our JA staff. The time commitment involves a one-hour training with JA staff, lesson preparation time, and actual teaching time of 5-7 hours. You'll find that the time commitment is minimal compared to the immense rewards!
