Description
The American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Volunteer facilitates emergency communications between military family members and service men and women around the world. This unique opportunity allows the volunteer to work from home, on a scheduled basis, to assure that timely, accurate emergency messages and confirmations are passed.
A minimum of 3 days or nights (on-call) commitment is requested. Basic training is offered free of charge to the volunteer and includes self study and classroom courses, as well as on the job training
Skills
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to retrieve necessary information to verify and send a message.
- Investigation: Able to retrieve the necessary details and verification of emergency messages.
- Compassion: Ability to show empathy and connect with the caller.
