Description
Tutor students at the MERC (Mpls. Readiness Curriculum) Alternative High School at the Bethlehem Community Center. Work one-on-one with high school-aged young people to help them understand basic math concepts and master basic skills. Empower teens by sharing your knowledge!Location:
Location: PPL Bethlehem Community Center, 3539 Pleasant Ave., Minneapolis
Time and Commitment: M, T, and/or Wed., 12:45-2:45 pm, for the semester or school year.
What kinds of things will I do?
- Work one-on-one with students having difficulty in math. Many students lack the basic skills needed to pass the MBST and MCA II tests.
- Be a positive, encouraging role model.
- Work to help develop academic curiosity, time management and study skills.
- Follow MERC guidelines and ensure that students do the same.
What kind of support can I expect?
- Orientation, training and support from program staff.
