Serve meals
Serve hungry people meals

Help prepare and serve meals in our kitchen at the homeless shelter.

  • Work with kitchen staff to prepare and serve food.
  • Put away food deliveries as they come in.
  • Assist with clean up after meal service
  • Fellowship and mentor clients serving in the kitchen also.

This is a rewarding and fulfilling opportunity. This can be a recurring service opportunity also.

Volunteers are predominantly needed mornings and evenings.

Description

The Salvation Army Fort Myers Area Command includes many locations offering multiple programs and services. Facilities include a residential shelter, Red Shield Community Resource Center, Outreach Centers in Bonita Springs, LaBelle, and Lehigh Acres, a Worship and Administration center. Programs include a comprehensive care program, family shelter, a correctional services program, a food services program which includes evening meals for the homeless and needy, crisis management for those on the verge of homelessness, an Angel Tree outreach ministry to disadvantaged homes in the area, and more. These social service programs help thousands of people each year and are very rewarding to be involved with.
