On Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2009, the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial will be conducting a free, family event, at the Gateway Arch grounds, called ParkPalooza. Families and children will be introduced to the opportunities for fun and recreation that exist in parks across the country. The National Park Service, as well as state and local organizations, will be hosting different hands-on stations throughout the park for children and adults. We will need many volunteers to assist in these areas and to also provide general help. We would like to invite you and your organization to participate as volunteers in this Second Annual event. Volunteers can be of any age from 12 years old and up. You can volunteer as an individual or as a group.

Volunteer all day, both days, all day one day, or a 4 hour shift, one or two days. REALLY NEED ALL DAY VOLUNTEERS, ESCPECIALLY SUNDAY

• Must be friendly and want to help people. Volunteers will be assigned to a station, to assist in any way they can, helping children and adults with the activity of the station. Also may be a general volunteer, doing various things with the event. Must want to have a good and fun time helping with the activities. Stations include: ___Rock Climbing, ___Simulated Archeology digs, ___Setting up campsites - how to pack a backpack, ___Music and dance venues , ___Art experiences, ___Living history demonstrations and performances, ___Hand-on crafts, ___Reel casting, ___Fishing and boating simulators, ___Nature encounters (plants, animals & weather), ___Orienteering, GPS and Geo-caching, ___Biking, ___Leave No Trace, ___General volunteer needs, at any station or area Once again, thank you for your time and effort in supporting YOUR local park. Shifts for both days: 9 am - 1 pm,& 12 Noon - 4 pm. You may work one or both shifts per day or both days if you want.
