Safe Haven is a program within Austin Travis County Integral Care that provides a safe and acceptable living environment for veterans who have been formerly homeless and/or live with mental health challenges.The program offers semi-private rooms for 16 people per day, 3 meals daily, laundry facilities and meeting rooms.

Volunteers are needed as "Friendly Visitors and Recreation Leaders" to provide either one-on-one or group recreation activities such as board games, music activities, story telling, etc.

Hours and days are flexible.

Description

The Behavioral Health Services provides an array of services to individuals with a primary diagnosis of serious and persistent mental illness and substance abuse.

Child and Family provides comprehensive mental health services to youth and their families.Services can be provided in the office, the youth's home, in school settings, Juvenille Court and in the community. The goal is to reduce symptoms and to improve daily functioning and emotional well-being.

Developmental Disabilitie's focus is to assist individuals and their families in choosing and accessing quality and cost-efficient services and supports that best meets their needs and preferences.
