WE HAVE SEVERAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE AND WE CAN FIND ONE TO FIT YOUR SCHEDULE.
YOU MUST BE RELIABLE AND COMMITED.
Baby Animal Feeders
- Spring is just around the corner and we'll be getting in animal babies. Come help us feed baby squirrels, baby birds and baby opossums. FULL TRAINING PROVIDED. This is a great opportunity for teens 14 and up to learn about wildlife and get hands-on experience. We feed 7 days a week so we can definitely work around your schedule.
Wise Owl
- You will be the face of TWRC when the public brings in injured/orphaned wildlife. You MUST be friendly and understanding as most people are stressed that they have found an injured animal. You will assist with completing the admission form. You will HANDLE the animal to transfer it to a TWRC container so it is ready to be examined in our vet room. THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT POSITION but it is very exciting!
Busy Bee
- Responsibilities: This position is responsible for maintaining TWRC’s facility where the public bring injured, orphaned and ill wildlife for care. Our facility must be clean and orderly so that we can operate efficiently to provide quality care to wildlife in need. This entry level position is responsible for washing dishes and crates, animal laundry, assembling animal aquaria, food prep and other activities to support the center.
- Pre-requisites: Be a current TWRC member. It's easy to become a member. TWRC provides all training.
- Ongoing Commitment: Commit to work at least 12 hours per month.
- Responsibilities: The lobby where the education animals reside is the first thing the public will see and smell when they enter the door. It is imperative that it be maintained to the highest standards. Our education animals deserve the best quality diets as well as a variety of enrichment activities. These animals are critical to the success of our education program. This entry level position is responsible for the daily feeding and care of all education animals (squirrels, opossum, screech owl, non-venomous snakes, turtles, lizards, and a woodpecker).
- Pre-requisites: Be a current TWRC member. TWRC provides all training.
- Ongoing Commitment: Commit to work at least 12 hours per month.
