The SFIOFF is looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized individual to help with overseeing and managing special screenings of select award winning films throughout the year. Responsibilities include organizing special one-day events from beginning to end: confirming venue, interfacing with vendors, assisting with email blasts, social media postings, ticketing, working with Volunteer Coordinator to secure volunteers and serving as day-of-event point of contact. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in event planning, development coordinator, or film festival planning experience.

Mission Statement

The mission of the International Ocean Film Festival is to be the premier global platform for ocean literacy and education through independent film.

Description

The International Ocean Film Festival (IOFF), is the first and largest film festival focused on the ocean in the world.

As a year-round ocean conservation organization the IOFF produces a multipole day in person film and lecture event that promotes awareness around the health of our oceans, and call to actions to protect it. Film programs include award winning independent films of all genres, on stage discussions with filmmakers and content experts, creating a unique public forum on the environmental, social, and cultural importance of the ocean's ecosystems, habitats and its resources. The IOFF has five main education initiatives to fulfill its mission:

  • Global Online Student Ocean Film Program
  • Free Student Ocean Film Field Trips
  • International Student Film Competition
  • International Traveling Program
  • Annual Ocean Film Festival

IOFF will be celebrating it's 21st Anniversary on April 13-14, 2024 at Cowell Theater at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture in San Francisco, CA. With an expected attendance of 3,000 people, the IOFF serves as a beacon of hope and conversation for ocean lovers of all ages.
