Are you 55 or older and eager to make our community a better place? Join AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP of Metro Atlanta, a volunteer program that mobilizes seasoned adults to serve as peer educators and advocates.
As an RSVP volunteer in this role, you will help older adults and persons with disabilities maintain independent lifestyles. Conduct public presentations on topics related to community resources, health, safety, and technology.
As a Health and Preventive Services Advocate, you will receive topic-specific PowerPoints, suggested scripts, and training in your selected presentation subject(s) so that you can feel confident in your role as a community educator. RSVP presenters don't pretend have all the answers. We provide audience members with tools to help people take positive action in their lives and have more productive conversations with their healthcare providers.
- Select your preferred topics from our presentation menu and undergo related training.
- Choose the speaking opportunities that are right for you. Locations may be virtual Zoom rooms, senior centers, senior apartments, faith communities, other gathering places.
- Lead a one-hour presentation and distribute handouts.
