The Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning will lead and direct the organization's overall marketing and strategic planning programs and strategies. Responsibilities include community outreach and development through marketing, services, and programs. This position will develop a brand strategy specifically for PFLAG Triangle and lead a committee that will aid in that development. In addition, this position will analyze our current marketing campaigns and strategic plans, make improvements, and upon discretion from the Board of Directors, redevelop them. Specific Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1 Design, implement, and facilitate annual marketing plan for the organization. Support and facilitate development and implementation of the board of director's vision, goals, and mission. 2 Plan and administer the organization's Marketing Operations budget. 3 Chair and oversee the Marketing Committee. (NOTE: This committee has not been established. This position will be responsible for forming, recruiting members, and maintaining this committee.) 4 Organize and implement volunteer and community relations including: a. Community satisfaction surveys b. Community development activities c. Volunteer skills training d. Assist Events Director with Special Events 5 Create and implement a grant process for Non-Profits in the area to receive funding from PFLAG Triangle. This task should be completed through joint collaboration with the Communications Director. In addition, a Grant Authorization Committee should be formed to make initial grant approval and final recommendations to the Board of Directors. 6 Develop and administer Marketing Database which includes volunteer and community information, USPS mailing lists, membership renewal tracking and donor base. In addition, maintaining member's personal information according to the Privacy Laws. Work with Communications Director to deliver information to current donor base and membership listservs. 7 Assist with and support the organization involvement with various other non-profit agencies in the area (i.e. Equality NC, PFLAG National and other local chapters, HRC, etc). This position would assist with coordination efforts and marketing activities via these relationships. 8 Design and plan yearly marketing training seminars for Board of Directors during the yearly retreat. 9 In conjunction with the Communications Director, ensure electronic marketing for the Website concurs with current marketing campaigns. 10 Supervise any volunteers on the Marketing Committee or other marketing roles.
Skills
- Equipment and Software Knowledge General office equipment including but not limited to: Personal PC's Copier Printers General Software including but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) Windows Internet Explorer Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications Education: College degree required. Concentration in Marketing, Business, or Communications preferred. Non-Profit Management Courses is also desired. Experience: At least five (5) years in a marketing specialist or director role within a professional services environment. Strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experience; a proven track record in developing and administering a marketing program. Additional years of experience can be compensated for education component. Required Skills: Must be a self-starter, highly organized, proactive leader, and able to work well with Directors at all skill levels in the organization. Polished presentation and interpersonal skills desired. Must possess top level business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills. Needs good knowledge of Microsoft Office with major in Excel, PowerPoint and Access and Windows-based computer applications. *NOTE: PFLAG Triangle is a Windows Environment* Desired Skills: Must be able to recruit, form, maintain and lead a committee. Must be committed to the vision and mission of PFLAG. Must be able to attend ¾ of all scheduled board meetings.
